The Kano State Government on Sunday commended Kano Pillars FC for reaching the quarter-finals of the 2022 Aiteo Federation Cup.
The state’s Deputy Governor, Dr Nasiru Gawuna, described Pillars’ 2-0 defeat of DMD FC of Maiduguri in the round of 16 of the competition at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi State on Saturday as commendable and well-deserved.
In a press statement, the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hassan Fagge, said Gawuna attributed the victory, which secured Pillars the quarter-final ticket, to the team’s determination and focus, as well as the management’s tactical approach, commitment and hard work.
“The state government under the watch of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the good people of Kano are proud of you for bringing joy, happiness and putting a smile on the faces of your numerous fans and supporters.
