Nigeria’s foremost financial institution, Heritage Bank have received the Online Reporters Association of Nigeria, ORAN Award of the most innovative bank of the year 2021 for her Excellence and innovative performance in championing the cause of Agricultural development, and unblemished track record in investment strategies.
The award was presented to the bank on Tuesday, 25th of January, 2022 at the Heritage Bank’s Corporate Headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos by ORAN Public Relations Officer, Alfred Abiodun on behalf of ORAN president, Shehu Tijani Adegbola who was unavoidably absent.
Mr Alfred Abiodun extolled the good virtues of Heritage Bank as a financial institution and gave kudos to the bank for her consistent support for the media.
On hand to receive the award were Ozena Utulu, Ag. Group Head, Corporate Communications, Heritage bank, Ugonwa Ikegwuonu, Head, Agribusiness and Export, and Blaise Udunze, Head Media and External Relations. ORAN was represented by executive members of the media association, Abiodun Adisa, publisher of www.applaudnews.com and Treasurer of ORAN, Arthur Igbolaju Richard, publisher of www.bottomonlinenews.com (ORAN Secretary-General), and Mr Alfred Abiodun, publisher of http://www.dascenario.com
ORAN also presented Shield Of Distinguished Service Award to Blaise Udunze, Head Media and External Relations for his consistent and media relations.
It could be recalled that Heritage Bank won the MOST INNOVATIVE BANK OF THE YEAR 2021 award at the ORAN anniversary event on 2nd of December, 2021 at City People Magazine Ballroom, Gbagada, Lagos.
Receiving the award on behalf of Heritage Bank, Miss Ugonwa Ikegwuonu, Head, Agribusiness and Export, reiterated Heritage bank’s commitment to re-invigorating Nigeria’s agricultural dexterity and restoring back her lost glory amongst the agri-business nations. She also thanked her team for making the great wins possible,
“We’re really pleased to receive this award, and what that has made us to realized is that good things don’t hide, we’re really happy that you’re appreciating the efforts of Heritage Bank in alleviating poverty, Online Reporters Association of Nigeria, this award has really shown that you’re truly online, you’ve been looking at what is happening because in 2021 the bank had massive collaboration with the CBN especially in wheat value chain, and we’re not resting. In 2022 we’re going to do much more than we did in 2021, everybody is aware of what happened in the wheat value chain last year and we’re very proud as a bank, we got over 90% of total transaction signed, the records are there. In 2022 we’re going to do much more, you know the reward for hard work is more work, it’s a lot of stress, challenging, but it’s what the bank is interested in, it’s something we want to be associated with, the agric space for us we see it as a national call and we’ll not stop at anything until we achieve that as objective.

Mr Blaise Udunze in his speech said,
“We truly appreciate the enormous support from the Online Reporters Association of Nigeria towards Heritage Bank’s brand and reputation.
“Truly this award speaks volume of our consistent commitment and dedication as a team in the Corporate Communication department of the bank.
I specially ask for better synergy and good working relationship with ORAN as the gatekeepers and the fourth realm of the estate. I believe it can only be better when we are there for each other.
Once again, I want to appreciate ORAN for creating an atmosphere for the banking industry to leverage on in order to service customers better”.
