The Founder and General Overseer of Genesis Church, Prophet Israel Ogundipe has called Nigerians take advantage of the opportunity presented by the forthcoming 2023 General Elections to Enthrone good leadership in the country.
Prophet Israel Ogundipe who is popularly called Genesis made call while speaking on the ‘The Role of religion in molding and shaping the society’ as the guest speaker at the recently held 3rd anniversary of the Online Reporters Association of Nigeria, ORAN which took place at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos.
Prophet Israel Ogundipe was represented by Gbolahan Ashorobi.
Also speaking at the event is the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local government Area of Lagos, Aarebinrin, Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji has charged the Nigerian youths to wake up and get involved in helping to build a better Nigeria.
She made the call while speaking at the 3rd anniversary of the Online Reporters Association of Nigeria, ORAN which took place at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos on Thursday, 26th of January 2013.
She called on the Nigerian youths to ignore the statement that says that they’re the ‘Leaders Of Tomorrow’, she insisted that now is the best time to get involved and help make the desired change.
“Youths should not just be leaders of tomorrow, but leaders of today in order to have the society we desire and Nigeria we all clamor for”.
She also encouraged the youths to shun instant gratifications and learn to add great values to the society.
“Make every day, a day to learn and unlearn, and as a journalist society expects more from us than doing the normal day-to-day activities, it is time to go beyond the surface and dig deep.
Another guest speaker at the event is the Governorship candidate of National Rescue Movement NRM, in Lagos State, Hon. Akinwunmi Braithwaite who called on Nigerians to wake up and take back their country as the 2023 general elections draw near.
Speaking on the importance of Good governance, he said Nigerians should vote with the genuineness of hearts to enjoy the real benefit.
According to him, Nigerians should rather vote with their brains than their conscience since their conscience can cause them to vote the wrong people into offices out of emotional weakness.
“A government has the major responsibility to deliver good governance to its people, but in a situation where there is nothing like this, the people need to wise up and vote wisely been the only power they have.” He said
He added that the media, especially the online reporters needs to help society with accurate information, charging members ORAN to engage more in investigative journalism as it is the major need of our society in a time like this.
Hon. Akinwunmi Braithwaite , Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji , and the General Overseer of Genesis Church, Prophet Israel Ogundipe who was represented by Mr Gbolahan Ashorobi and other prominent members of the society were honored by the association for their immense contribution to the development of the society.
