The NNPP chieftain disclosed that, honouring the agreement with the university lecturers’ Union is the only solution to stop the lingering induwstrial action. The leading senatorial candidate in Lagos west in the forthcoming National Assembly elections, said that the federal government needs to factor the concerns of parents and students in this matter. He further said that, ‘No serious government would afford N1.4billion to purchase SUV vehicles for Niger Republic, a neighbouring country while its own university lecturers are on strike due to unpaid salary’. It could be recalled that National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has vowed to ground activities at major seaports in Lagos and other parts of the country.

Hon.
