It was an array of encomiums and accolades pouring in from different quarters as one of Nigeria’s most talismanic entertainment group the Faith Music Band won a Recognition Award as the Best Musical Group at this year’s edition of Celebrity Crush TV Awards gala nite held at the prestigious Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industries on Nurudeen Olowopopo Road Alausa Ikeja.
The group, represented by its band manager who gallantly received the award on behalf of the band was recognized for its artistically oriented forms of entertainment displayed during the year under review. Led by the indefatigable and undeniably talented Ayo Ajekigbe, Faith Musical Band has performed for the highs and mightiest both in the Nigerian and international social circuits.
The band has come on board for a rescue mission targeted towards salvaging the hitherto moribound juju genre of music which in the past, had the best of Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, King Sunny Ade, Dele Abiodun, Shina Peters, the late Dayo Kujore, Dele Taiwo amongst other superstars who rocked parties back in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and the early 2000s. However, in modern times, Faith Music Band has rejuvenated that brand of music and synergized it with other forms of classical music genres to the delight of party crooners and music lovers. Ayo Ajekigbe’s band has performed at several parties and events organized and attended by the creme de la creme of the extensive society. It is definitely obvious that Ayo Ajekigbe’s magic wand as a band leader has led to the tremendous achievements of Faith Music Band, a musical group made up of highly talented instrumentalists made up of aesthetically oriented drummers, percussionists, saxophonists, guitarists etc as we as velvet-voiced backup singers to spice up the sonorous voice of the leader himself, Ayo Ajekigbe.
Little wonder this fantastically endowed musical band is today’s most sought-after amongst it’s peers and reason is not farfetched, Faith Music Band is God sent and anointed to dominate the entertainment space both locally and internationally. The band has won several awards and accolades back home here in Nigeria and in the Diaspora.
