The story of Oshodi market and it’s traders will be incomplete without mentioning the name of the first iyaloja general of oshodi, the first female councillor in oshodi under the old mushin local government in 1976, and a great political pathfinder.
Alhaja T. Councillor as mama was popularly known, has been described as a strong, courageous grass rooter to the core and a true political activist whose leadership skills has not been surpassed by anyone yet. Chief Mrs. T Almaroof was also the chairperson of Lagos market advisory council from 1996/1999, during her tenure, she was a transformative and dynamic woman leader and her positive impact over the life of others cannot be over emphasized. Mama who died at the age of 93 was also a good listener and an active humanitarian which she imbibed in her son, otunba kehinde Oloyede Almaroof the incoming chairman of oshodi/Isolo local government.
