It was indeed a descending of God’s glory and radiation of His awesomeness when the little Osiwaja twins of almost a century ago added another glorious year to their ripe ages. The duo of Mrs. Mabel Taiwo Adesoye and her twin sister, Deaconess Florah Kehinde Shodiyan JP were serenaded by all their entire family members, friends and well-wishers who all stormed the highly referred Lagos Country Club situated in Ikeja GRA, Lagos. The event was indeed a superlative one with tremendous and magnificent preparations made available by the organizers.
Beaming with heavy smiles and full of appreciation to the Almighty God and members of their families, the elated twin sisters took time out to appraise the efforts of those who made their 90th birthday event an eventful one starting from the officiating ministers like Pastor Gbenga Adelusi JP, the Minister-in-Charge/Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Ebute-Metta, Lagos and Pastor J. Ola Opabola JP. Others were Pastor Philip Olatunde, Pastor Kehinde Korede, Pastor Gbeminiyi Abosede, Pastor Ibukun Odunaya, Reverend M.O. Adesina and Venerable Femi Ososanya. The twin sisters also express their gratitude to the St. David’s Band of Christ Apostolic Church, Ebute Metta led by Elder Adekunle Bidemi Oyesanya, the Director of Music in the church.
The 90th birthday of this adorable twin which was well attended by dignitaries and VIPs from all walks of life commenced with an opening prayer after which an opening hymn was sang from the CAC Hymn Book 77, which says Gbogbo Aiye gbe Jesu ga (All creatures should exalt Jesus Christ). Biblical Lessons were read by Timileyin Shodiyan and Mrs. Oluwakemi Adesanya Ajala before other programmes followed suit.
The inflow of special tributes as rolled out by family members as led by daughter of Deaconess Kehinde Shodiyan, Dame Julianan Remilekun Cole JP who passionately eulogizes her mother for teaching her how to live in this world. She then wished her mother who she rated as the most loving, dedicated, kind and patient mother in the entire universe a very happy 90th birthday alongside her twin sister. Other family members who congratulated and showered encomium on the celebrants are Adewale Adesoye son of Mrs. Taiwo Adesoye whom he referred to as his super angel whom she can never thank enough for her benevolence on him. Words of appreciation also came from Mrs. Iyabo Adesoye while the grand children also expressed their gratitudes with messages from Floran Kehinde Adesoye and Mabel Taiwo Adesoye (another set of twins from Mama Taiwo Adesoye’s child), Adetola Adesoye, A unique highlight of the event was a tribute paid by a legal luminary who is a member of the family and expressed how Deaconess Shodiyan showered lots of love and encouragement on him. According to him, Deaconess Shodiyan happens to be wife to his uncle the Late Pastor Augustus Olusesan Shodiyan. He said he really enjoyed her benevolence and special attention right from his days as a junior student at Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Ibadan. He also said that Mama Shodiyan was always there to protect him from the bully senior students of the school. These and many more eulogies were showered on the twin sisters by the brilliant lawyer.
Also on hand to pour more accolades are Mrs. Ajoke Oluwakemi, Mojisola Oluronke Adesanya, Adetola Akogba, Damilola Akogba, Sarah Adams-Etta and her children, Taiwo Adejoke Idowu, Adeboye Bola ( a daughter-in-law), Ademolu Kehinde Adesoye, Kelvin Adegoke Adesoye, Adesoye Folashade, Adeniran Adesanya, Prince and Princess Ajose, Timileyin Shodiyan, Adeola Aderonke Sodiyan, Adesanya Oluwadamilola, Olugbenga Idowu, Adesoye Oluwatoyin, Victoria Damilola Sodiyan, Adesoye Adebukola, Adeyemi Adesoye, Adesoye Abiodun Alaba and Emmanuel Mayowa Cole, all children, grand children and great grand children of the celebrants, Mrs. and Deaconess Taiwo Adesoye & Kehinde Sodiyan.
The celebrants look very beautiful and radiant as the ripe age of 90 did not reflect on them. They are also still very fit as the well up and doing, greeting and appreciating all who attended their birthday party. They equally and fittingly danced to the musical tunes supplied during their event. This shows that both Mama Taiwo and Mama Kehinde have many more years to live on planet earth.
