Power Situation In Lasuth

The Management of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) wishes to appeal to its numerous patients and clients concerning the current power situation in the hospital.

In the last four weeks, the hospital has not had supply from its only power source, the Independent Power Project (IPP) and had been running on generators. Diesel prices as everyone knows, are currently very high. This very high cost of procuring diesel has necessitated the painful decision to ration power in the hospital. This is in addition to the fact that these generators need regular times to cool down in between running them.

However, the hospital management is ensuring a 24/7 power supply to all the Emergency Units, Intensive Care Units (Adult and Neonatal ) as well as the Operating Theatre Suites.

In the interim, the hospital Management is finalizing certain alternative power source arrangements.

This situation has undeniably brought untold hardship to our staff, patients and clients.

While the state authorities are dealing squarely with the issue of ensuring a speedy return of supply, we appeal for patience from our clients.

Normalcy will return as soon as we are back on the normal power supply.

Signed: LASUTH Management
