The Vice President said the activities of the Bola Tinubu-led administration, especially its ongoing reforms and the attention given to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), sign-posted a great future.

Shettima spoke while touring exhibition stands at the BRICS Trade Fair in Johannesburg, South Africa yesterday. The fair is a key part of the sidelines of the ongoing 15th BRICS Summit of Heads of State and Governments.

The vice-president specifically made reference to Rose Bank, a Nigerian investment outfit in South Africa, which is funding a cassava project worth N40 billion.

“It is game a changer with the cassava value chain with its huge economic benefits. We hope that it will be reflected in other parts of the country,” he said while inspecting   Nigeria’s stand at the fair.

Shettima, who noted that Nigerians had become prominent players in the digital and fashion world, said he was confident that such persons  “are willing to partner  the home nation for the greater glory of the African continent.”

“I am quite impressed by the investment Nigerians are making in South Africa.

“I can say that Nigerians are active in the digital economy, they are active in fashion and they are equally active in mining. I am quite glad that quite a number of our countrymen are doing well,”  he said in a statement by Olusola Abiola,   director of Information,  Office  of the Vice-President.
