LASG Partners Hospitality Professionals On Safety Measures, Curbing Spread Of Pandemic

Event Safety Summit is collaboration of event and hospitality professionals comprising of 8 associations within Nigeria representing special event planners, producers, caterers, decorators, and everyone involved in the event industry.

The objectives of the summit were:

  1. To educate professional in the industry on the safety protocols of operating during a pandemic.

    2.     Enable event industry professional to network with one another.

    3.      Foster enlightened performance through education and while promoting ethical conduct.

The Lagos State Commissioner of tourism Mrs Uzamat Akinbile, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Princess Adedoyin Ajayi said the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Lagos State will continue to partner with event professionals to achieve a greater Lagos.

Speaking at the event the Director General Lagos State Safety Commission Mr Lanre Mojola said the commission is curbing the spread of Covid-19 in social gathering across the state, also commended the organisers of the summit for putting together the event in a time like this.

The President of the Association of Professional party organizers and event managers of Nigeria Mrs Adefunke Kuyoro while speaking to Dconnectnews said after the summit,everyone in the event cycle will come together to have a town hall meeting with stakeholders on the best ways of making things work.

Susan Ajibade a participant during her interview expressed her excitement saying that the event was very educative and impactful especially in the area of food safety. She further went to commend the organisers of the program on a job well done which they are expecting more from them.

The panellist after deliberations advised that  the way forward will be teamwork, and collaboration with all stakeholders mainly event professionals, event owners, venue owners and the government to achieve safer events.

The event has over 300 attendees both virtually and physically.
