SB Events Magazine Marks 17th Anniversary With Efficiency Awards For Excellence

The most anticipated awards for personalities, who deserved to be honoured, and who cut across various organizations and industries, hosted by the SB E News/SB Events Magazine, tagged; Efficiency Award for Excellence, to mark 17th anniversary of the organization, was held on Saturday October 21, 2023 at the prestigious Golden Gate Restaurant, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The awards was held to honour those who have contributed significantly to Nigerian economy and who, through their relentlessness efforts have contributed to production and eliminated unemployment in the country.

Welcoming guests to the event, the Editor-In-Chief and host, Mr Isaac Olusola Micheal, thanked everyone for being present at the occasion.

Speaking on the personalities who he said made significant impacts in his life, when he thought it was over and things were not forthcoming, he mentioned the Chairman of the occasion, Sir Steve Omojafor and the late Aare Bolu Akin-Olugbade, not forgetting former Ogun State governor, now senator representing Ijebu East Local Government area of the state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

In his speech, Sir Steve Omojafor, equally thanked everyone who left everything to attend the event.

“It seemed as if no one was ready to assist him in his life journey, but some of us encouraged him not to give up because life is all about struggle,” he said.

Sir Omajafor then expressed gratitude to God, who sustained Isaac Olusola Michael from nobody to somebody and for given him the opportunity to host the 17th anniversary of the organisation with an excellence awards ceremony.

Omojafor was later decorated with Lifetime Achievement Award by the organisation for his contribution to journalism and public relations in Nigeria.

The award presentation started with Golden Lifetime Achievement Award to the Founder of Floral Fountain Health Foundation, High Chief Folarin Williams, who was said to have been so brilliant that he never came second in his school days and always comes first in anything he does till date.

High Chief Williams attributed his brilliance to the gene in his family, noting that the late Akintola Williams was his cousin.

Sona Group of Companies bagged Industry Of The Year Award, while the Chairman of UTM Construction Company, Chief Julius Rone, received Business Man Of The Year Award.

The ceremony saw the President of Pearl Awards, Mr Tayo Orekoya, decorated with Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to former Nigerian Stock Exchange, now NGX.

Medical Director of Medical Arts Centre, Professor Oladapo Ashiru, and Mr Tee Mac Omatshola, got Lifetime Achievement Awards, while Elfreda Moradeyo Rowland was awarded Musician, Actor, Director of Music Icon Of The Year Award.

In her comments, the Media Director of Sona Group of Industry, Christiana Inoh who alongside Sodiq Umar received the an award on behalf of the chairman of the company, appreciated the organizers of the awards for recognizing the company for the honour.

She stated that the company has over 8,000 employees in Nigeria, who she said are mostly Nigerians, adding that the firm has been in the country for more than 45 years.

Other awardees at the event included IGP, Mr Olukayode Egbetokun, Chief Mike Ozhekome, Mr Seye Kehinde, Bash Ali and some others.
