Super Eagles star, Alex Iwobi, says he is honoured to have been named in Alan Shearer’s Premier League Team of the Week, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Iwobi has been in superb form for Everton this season, providing three assists for the Toffees’ last four Premier League goals.
He also made Neal Maupay’s goal against the Hammers – their first win of the campaign.
Impressed by Iwobi’s performance on Sunday, Premier League legend and all-time top scorer Shearer picked the Eagles star as one of his best picks of the week.
The 25-year-old was roundly praised for his performance against the Hammers, as he stood a solid presence in the middle.
“Much improved performance and set up the winning goal,” Shearer wrote in his column

Iwobi responded to the inclusion on his personal Twitter account, saying he was “honoured” to be included.
Since the appointment of Frank Lampard last season, Iwobi has found a new vein of brilliance and consistency.
He has been hailed as arguably Everton’s best player this season as he’s always massively involved in their game play.
In Shearer’s list, Iwobi was deployed on the left side of the central midfield with Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka, Fulham’s Palhinha and Kevin De Bruyne.
Other players in the team were Bournemouth’s Neto, Manchester City’s Ruben Dias, Arsenal’s William Saliba and James Tarkovsky in the defence, while the attack had Gabriel Jesus, Heung-min Son and Jack Grealish.
