Daniel Bwala, the Spokesperson for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has said that unlike the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, the whereabouts of Atiku is not unknown.

Bwala, who appeared on Arise TV morning show, aired on Friday, said unlike the spokesperson for Tinubu, Festus Keyamo (SAN) , who could not give detail of his principal’s whereabouts, he (Bwala) could answer Atiku’s whereabouts at any time.

The PUNCH reports that presidential candidates’ whereabouts have been a topical discourse amidst Nigerians, particularly since the absence of Tinubu at the signing of the presidential peace pact in Abuja.

Bwala was responding to questions regarding his principal’s possible shuffle between Nigeria and Dubai.

He said, “He (Atiku) has never shrouded his journey in secrecy to say that he’s there or he’s not there. Two days ago, the spokesman for the APC was asked ‘where is your principal? He said he didn’t know where the principal was.

“They were not straightforward with the Nigerian people. Atiku was straightforward and at every given you time you call me and say : ‘where is Atiku Abubakar? I will tell you where he is. In fact, call Atiku, he answers, if he’s busy, he responds one way or the other.”

He said Keyamo not being able to answer his principal’s whereabouts meant that “it’s either there is no confidence in the spokesman himself or that what they’re doing is shrouded in secrecy.”

However, Tinubu, after the peace pact, had stated that he was strong and healthy while dismissing the rumour that he was dead.

The former governor of Lagos State, in a tweet on October 2, also dismissed claims that he had withdrawn from the presidential race.

The tweet was accompanied by a video showing him working out on a fitness bike.

Defending Tinubu’s absence on Thursday, Keyamo, who is also the Minister of State for Labour and Employment said on Thursday that the APC could not continue defending Tinubu’s whereabouts every minute.

He said Nigerians were misconstruing the issues at hand, adding that though Tinubu was the APC standard bearer, he was yet to become Nigeria’s president.

With that, Keyamo said the party, Tinubu, and the presidential campaign council would not be issuing press statements to explain the former Lagos State governor’s whereabouts.

The PUNCH reported that Tinubu returned back to the country from the United Kingdom Thursday evening.
